Excellent place to stay. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Small campsite. Pub 100 yards away. Just off the A9. Nice base for tourists.
We booked a stay in the end of September. Due to an accident on the road we arrived late (around 8pm). However, Carol Anne was very helpful and although it was late, she came down and checked us in. She was very helpful. We ended up being the only van here. All the facilities were super clean. There is a small pub you can go right next to the reception.
Superb location for the NC500. Not far from Tain for supplies. Next to a cafe if you want food. The campsite is superb , flat and quiet. The facilities were spotless, modern and a delight to use. The hostess was lovely and gave some good ideas of places to see and visit. The views were a delight.
Great view, romantic, quiet.
A great campsite for cycle tourers. You’re on a dedicated camping area with tables. Showers and toilets are always clean and they’re spacious! Undercover area just in front of the toilets to hide from rain if needed. Owners very friendly and accommodating.
Extremely nice staff! You felt like you were at home. We couldn’t order a taxi at short notice, so the receptionist simply drove us herself! Thank you for that! Then something broke in our motorhome and an employee repaired it within ten minutes. Simply great.
Beautiful place with a friendly welcome by the owners. Great place and very neat and clean toilets and showers. From here you can walk to the Glenmorangie Distillery in twenty-five minutes and then to the town of Tain where you can enjoy a delicious meal at Platform 1864.
A very nice caravan site. Enjoyed our stay. Owners were hospitable. They made sure you were comfortable. Highly recommend.
Will was a fantastic host, a really lovely and helpful man. Bathrooms and shower facilities were really clean and spacious. Area was lovely. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Lovely small caravan and campsite. Great shower facilities and super clean. Friendly owners and great small camp area. We stopped for one night in a campervan with electrical hook-up and enjoyed the sunset and watching the red deer on the hill. Lovely site and great facilities.
Beautiful clean campground, reasonable prices and lovely owner! Facilities are immaculate with great showers! Can’t recommend this campground enough!
Stayed here for one night. Owner is lovely. Facilities are amazing.
Staff were excellent facilities, perfect and very clean, only stayed for one night as it was the start of our epic NC500 journey.
Great NC500 stopover, great clean facilities. Lovely walk nearby.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as part of our NC500 adventure in the Campervan. The park itself is quiet, the facilities are very modern and immaculate, and we received a very friendly welcome by the site owner Will and his two cheery dogs! Highly recommend!
What a wee gem of a site. Wetrooms are spotless and warm.
T.V. aerial located in the hedge – great picture!
Motorhome pitch flat.
Without walking too far we saw the Northern Lights!
Would recommend this lovely site and hope to return in the future. Thanks!
A quiet and peaceful site, well looked after.
Superb, quiet clean and very tidy campsite, friendly owners too.
What a wee hidden gem of a campsite. Facilities were excellent & clean. A lovely warm welcome as well.
Handy having the Meikle Ferry Inn next door for delicious food and drams also.
Lovely place.
Very clean and well kept site.
Superb staff, site is spotlessly clean and tidy, just what we need. Highly recommend.
Great location, lovely quiet park. Great scenery.
Stayed here for two nights and so glad we did. Staff very helpful and friendly, great facilities, super clean. Can’t fault anything. Would definitely stay here again.
Amazing campsite. Great facilities and helpful staff. High standard of cleanliness.
Very clean and well taken care of place! I highly recommend staying there! Lovely bathrooms with showers, laundry room, electricity. The owners are lovely and very helpful.
Great site and the owners are lovely, impeccable facilities/rest rooms.
Amazing!!!
Lovely family run site! Very friendly staff and CLEAN facilities!! Nice private shower rooms too 🙂 Definitely recommend!
Lovely at reception, clean and tidy campsite, great bathroom + showers. Outstanding!
‘What can I say! From start to finish this caravan park is brilliant! Will was fantastic in getting me booked in as I had limited WiFi and phone connection travelling the NC500. On arrival, I was welcomed by the friendly Carol Anne who took time out to advise me on places to go and went into detail about the towns round about. My electric cable for my tent was too short and Carol Anne came down and gave us an extension at no extra cost! The park itself is stunning. Will definitely be recommending it to friends and will be back! P.S. The dog loved it too! Thanks again for everything!’
‘Just spent a week there, what a lovely site, toilets and showers immaculate, very friendly and helpful owners, we even had a lift into Tain from Will, see you again soon.’
‘Quiet, clean, safe, friendly, beautiful views. Great laundry and shower facility! Easy access to the Highlands!’
‘Great site, easy access, in between Tain and Dornoch. Pleasant and helpful staff. The is well kept with clean facilities.’
‘A lovely place to stopover! The owners were super friendly and attentive. Place was spotless and in a great location too for doing the NC500 with shops and petrol station a two minute drive away. We will be back. :-)’
‘Staff are friendly and helpful and the showers are very clean, the laundry room and dish washing area even has a kettle that you can use. I only stayed the one night in my tent but would go back.’
‘Tranquil and very welcoming.’
‘We only had one night’s stay there (in our motorhome) but found the washroom/toilet facilities were excellent, and worth the money. They were very clean and well equipped, and the best we have seen. And the owner was very friendly and welcoming. Well worth nominating for Loo of the Year awards at loo.co.uk. We will definitely stay there again if we are around that area in the future.’
‘Fantastic wee site. Owners are wonderful and the facilities are the best I have seen – and immaculate! Will be back soon.’
‘Fantastic site and fantastic and friendly staff.’
‘We found this site by chance. All we can say it was the best kept site in a fortnight’s touring with our van, shower rooms are just wonderful, owners very helpful & friendly. We will return in the near future.’
‘Fabulous site..lovely people and wait till you see the toilet facility with showers, laundry and washing area..spotless clean, you don’t worry about putting your feet on the floor.’
‘Stopped off for 1 night on our way past and really wished we had time to stay longer. Immaculately presented site with the best wetrooms and facilities we’ve ever encountered on a campsite. Lovely greeting by the owners, and help and advice also. A real gem and we will be returning.’
‘What a great site very neat and tidy, you can see it’s well looked after. Shower and toilet blocks are very clean and well maintained.’
‘Very nice site. Mainly a caravan site but takes a few tourers. Toilet block is very posh! Private shower and wash rooms. Maintained very well and friendly staff. Within walking distance of Glenmorangie Distillery.’
‘Lovely place lovely facilities will defo stop again and brilliant prices.’
‘It is a lovely place to stay. 5 star for everything. I will definitely be coming back. The owners are friendly. It has a wetroom, laundry, toilets etc. all you need to enjoy a home from home.’
‘Tip top campsite. Very clean and friendly. 10/10’
‘Great place for camping. Very friendly staff. Has all the amenities necessary for camping and/or caravan camping.’
‘Great park. Toilet block is fantastic, clean and lots of space. We only did the one night in a tent but would be back and stay longer next time.’
‘Stayed here for 2 nights in our motorhome. We were made very welcome by the site owners, very friendly couple. We have stayed on a good few sites on our travels but got to say the wet rooms are absolutely immaculate and I loved how they were set out, shower, toilet & wash hand basin all private like being in your own home. For anyone doing the NC500 it is a great place to stop. We will definitely return.’
‘We arrived at Dornoch Firth Caravan park around 11am after an 11 hour overnight drive from Leicestershire. We were greeted by the most welcoming and jovial face of Will, the owner. It was at this point that I knew I had chosen the right place for our family to spend our holiday. The campsite was immaculate and the facilities were second to none. Will was the best host we could have asked for and did everything he could to make our stay extraordinary. You won’t find a better site to explore the Highlands from. Thanks Will and see you again soon!
‘Ideal stop off on the NC500, just off the main road. Famous Distillery near by at Tain. Small site. Immaculate modern facilities.’
‘Stayed here on two separate nights. Amazing place. Fantastic facilities. Lovely hosts. You won’t go wrong staying here. It’s brilliant.’
‘Fantastic site showers are amazingly warm and clean. We are doing the NC500 and not found such lovely showers anywhere en route.’
‘Brill campsite, would stay again.’
‘We have just celebrated out first year of owning our own caravan at the park. Will and co are fantastic hosts and a warm welcome and smile is there every time we come up to our home from home. Many new friends made and hopefully more in the future.’
‘Gorgeous, immaculate wee site.’
‘Fantastic weekend. The campsite and facilities are spotlessly clean. The shower block and toilets are of very high standard. Very friendly owners and tenants of the park.’
‘We toured the NC500 in 7 days staying at different sites each night – I have to say this was my favourite!! The facilities were great and this was the best shower we all had that week!! Wet room and the water was really warm. Great! The site was peaceful and there’s a little park in it too.’
‘I’ve been touring and camping my whole life and have never experienced facilities like these. Just excellent!’
‘Stopped off here for 1 night on the way up to John O’Groats. Lovely little site with excellent facilities. Really well kept place, super clean. Thanks for a lovely stay!’
‘Lovely caravan park, very clean and amazing facilities!’
I retired a few years ago and wanted a wee place of my own away from the busy city I live in. Dornoch Firth Caravan Park has become my piece of peace on earth. From my caravan I can see hills, water and green fields. The noise comes from cows and sheep. The park is only a couple of miles from the lovely wee town of Tain, where you have Lidl, Asda, Tesco, Home Bargains, other shopping, great museums and amazing food. Check out the St Duthus Hotel and Platform 1864. One of the things I was warned about when I was researching what caravan to buy and where was to check that the site owner was a good bloke. Will is amazing! He is friendly, helpful, great fun and very generous with his drink when we have a BBQ! He cannot do enough to help. He takes a great pride in the park and how its looks, he keeps the grounds looking beautiful. And as for the new toilet, shower and laundry block – all I can tell you is my sister-in-law wanted to have a shower there rather than in my caravan! I love sitting on my deck at night watching the stars. I am determined to see the Northern Lights and meantime I’ll sip my Balblair from the nearby distillery, waving at my friendly neighbours and thinking smugly of all my stressed-out friends back home.
Buying our holiday home at Dornoch Firth Caravan Park is one of the best decisions we have made. We had been having difficulty obtaining accommodation for short breaks in the area to fit in with our busy lifestyle. Now we can get away and enjoy walking and cycling amidst the glorious scenery of the Northern Highlands as often as we wish. Our holiday home enjoys spectacular views of the Dornoch Firth and surrounding hills. It is located on the North Coast 500 route yet is convenient for the picturesque towns of Dornoch and Tain. A haven of peace and tranquility.
My partner and I went touring the west coast of Scotland in September. After travelling up the west coast we came back from Ullapool and found this campsite with our caravan. What a find! The man I met at the office could not have been more helpful, from walks and golf courses to local restaurants. The site itself was the cleanest and best kept we had been in…5 stars. Thank you.
Made an unplanned stop here for one night, with a mate, on our motorbikes. The picnic tables on the camping site were a godsend, as was the wooden fence alongside, to hang our kit on.
Toilet/shower block was superb, the owners extremely helpful and all at a fair price. Would stay again 🙂
This site is nestled next to the bridge, just a few minutes from Tain with the world famous Glenmorangie distillery next door. This site is immaculate; it has a great tent area with modern clean and very hot shower facilities for washing, cleaning and toilets.
Hi, Me and my family, five of us in total, went up north for a week to visit family and have stayed in caravan parks before in other towns and other parts of the UK but this one was amazing. The views were stunning and the owner and staff were really helpful and welcoming, there were no issues either as the site owner talked us through everything within the caravan and made sure we were happy with the caravan. We were made to feel right at home from the very start and the caravans were made to feel very homely and comfortable. Even though it is beside the main road you hear no traffic or any disturbances from the road. All in all was a fantastic stay, worth every penny and we will definitely be staying there again when we next see the family. Thanks again for a wonderful stay and can’t wait to go back.
Visited your site while touring with our motorhome. Very friendly and well-run site with superb new washing and toilet facilities. We will be back!
‘This is our third visit to the site. Will always gives everyone a warm welcome! We have stayed in a few caravans at times with dogs and grand kids. This is our first visit on our own, no kids, no dogs, it has been so peaceful! Many thanks to Will and staff. We will be back!’
Thank you so much for the lovely stay I had at your campsite.
Having arrived soaked and knackered after a 2 days cycle from John O’Groats to Tain I was very grateful for the new and clean shower facilities (incl hair dryer) and the laundry option.
I can only recommend your campsite as an easy to reach and lovely kept place to stay for cyclists. I very much enjoyed my rest day in Tain, the leisurely cycle to Portmahomack, and especially Aspen Spa. Hot tub and massage so close by were just divine.
Thanks also for inviting me along to the Feis Rois evening. I loved the Scottish country dancing :)’
‘Great place to stay as we visited family and friends and travelled the N. Highlands!’
‘Just spent a wonderful 2 weeks holiday in the caravan park. A most relaxing and enjoyable time had by all, the park is immaculate and the owners very helpful and friendly. 5 stars +.’
‘Relaxing holiday, great site. Clean and very friendly. We will we back.’
‘We have stayed in many places north of Inverness and this is the best caravan site! Hoping to be back here in 2017.’
‘Great place to camp. Shops a few minutes away, Explore Dornoch, or Struie, facilities are excellent and brand new (May 2016). Ideal for bikers and cyclists. Owner is great, apart from his speech impediment, (every time he says anything his wife interrupts).’
‘Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Shops 5 mins drive away. Caravan site was spotlessly clean and well looked after. Caravan was lovely and the little extra touches were nice. Everyone was so friendly. Will definitely be going back there when we in that area again.’
‘Dear Will
I am writing to say what a lovely site the Dornoch Firth Caravan Park is –

Joanna, Frances, James and Emily’
‘Excellent location, so scenic and friendly people. Accommodation clean and comfortable. Lovely area for cycling.’
‘Excellent caravan. Site well-
‘We stayed for 11 nights and had a super base to work from. The host was friendly and outgoing. The new showers/laundry facilities/were a wonderful surprise, and the showers were hot, free, and allowed you lots of space. A good base for exploring the beautiful highlands. and with several supermarkets at nearby Tain. I would positively recommend this modest location.’
‘Couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you.’
‘Caravan spotless, site and location perfect. New toilet and laundry block –
‘Thank you, Will and Caroline. We had a lovely stay. A lovely welcome with fresh flowers –

‘We loved our holiday caravan. Nice and cosy and very comfortable, especially in inclement weather. We will definitely be back!! Thank you too for the lovely bunch of daffodils sitting in the lounge. One of my favourite flowers!’
‘Just lovely. Weather great. Quiet, relaxing.’
‘As good as a site gets. Very satisfied.‘
‘Excellent van (the Elite) –
‘Lovely!’
‘It was fab. Thank you.’
‘We stayed 26/3/16 on our way to the north coast 500. Very nice cheerful and welcoming owners. A quiet site. Just what we like. Clean facilities with hot showers. *****’

‘Hello Will
Just a quick line to say ‘thank you’ for a superb week last week. We loved the caravan and its location –
Would like to think that we’ll be back before too long.
Thank you, once again.
Go well and kind regards,
David’
‘Absolutely fantastic. Caravan was spacious, immaculately clean, extremely well equipped. Site is very central for all sorts of attractions in the Highlands. Owner very friendly and is readily available for anything that is needed.
Highly recommend. You never know you may even be invited to an impromptu BBQ by Will’.
‘Stayed here for a week, lovely wee site. Caravan was better quality than a haven site. Site was quiet with just a play park for kids and a laundrette. Train line runs next to site buts it’s not a busy line. Supermarkets and local takeaway five minutes away. Owners nice and helpful. Would come back here again.
Rating 5*’
‘The self-
My Jack Russell terrier and I enjoyed many walks, from forest trails to beaches and town circulars to coastal paths. Situated as it is on routes heading in all directions, the park is an excellent base for exploring and appreciating the diverse landscapes and coastline in this lovely part of the world.
Tain is worth a visit plus it provides a convenient range of shops and reasonably priced petrol (at Asda). Dornoch too is just a short drive using the Dornoch Firth Bridge –
My week was great so I didn’t mind the unseasonal weather and I wasn’t in a hurry to leave. A return visit is on the agenda! Maybe a longer one next time.
Thank you Will and Caroline’.
‘Thank you Will and Caroline for making us very welcome, and helping to arrange our holiday week at short notice. Everything in the caravan was just fine, very clean and comfortable, and cosy in the unseasonably cool weather. The site is in a good location, with helpful touring information provided in the van as well. We would be happy to recommend your holiday park’.
‘We visit the park twice a year for already 15 years in a row!! Super kept park with lovely cosy and luxurious caravans ! We love the tranquility and stunning views you have from the park! Will and Caroline are very friendly and kind people who help you in any way they possibly can ! Every time we return is like ” coming home”!!!!!!!!!!! big hug and see you soon! :-
‘This was our second visit to Dornoch Firth Caravan park having stayed in one of the static caravans last year we booked again. Our caravan was new and we were the first occupants, fully equipped with everything you could wish for within the caravan. It had a large decking area which we used at times as weather was hot and sunny. The site itself was quiet with a small children’s play area and adjacent picnic bench which was ideal to keep smaller kids amused and for picnic use. We found the site friendly and it was a short drive into Tain where there was lots to do for kids with swimming pool and leisure centre only a 5 minute drive away’.
‘Hello Caroline and Will,
We hope you can remember us!
Now we’re back in Germany, we like to remember our time in Scotland. Especially at Dornoch Firth Caravan Park, and your hospitality. The trip to and our stay at Ben Nevis Park was great also. Many, many thanks again. Your country is beautiful and we have seen a lot.
If you ever holiday in Germany, you are welcome in our home.
Best regards from Ostfriesland in north of Germany :-
‘My mum just came back from here [i.e. |Dornoch Firth Caravan Park] yesterday and said was best holiday ever!’
‘Ok I know I’m not long home but felt I had to mail you…this is the best caravan holiday I ever had..my husband and wee Daisy has a great week also…we only wish it had been longer! But never mind we will be back for sure…Thank you for the spotless brilliant caravan and a lovely scenic site..couldn’t have asked for more! Everyone was so nice and smiling all the time..a BIG thumbs up to all xxxx
from Margaret and John Campbell and wee Daisy from Perth. P.S You can use this in your reviews as every word is meant > See you soon.’
‘Spent a long weekend at Dornoch Firth Caravan Park in mid June, to attend a wedding. Travelled from Elgin. A very peaceful, comfortable and pleasant stay in one of the 3 bedroom Static Caravans. Everything within the Caravan was in perfect order and very clean. Our small dog was made welcome too, and some nice walks nearby. Very friendly from booking to our welcome upon arrival. Will return again.’
‘Just a one night stop, in our motor home, before Steve’s last day of cycling for his LeJoG ride. Received a lovely warm welcome on what turned out to be a glorious sunny evening.
Touring pitch was good size with the added benefit of electric hook-
Spectacular views crossing the Dornoch Firth the next day; despite the distinct down turn in the weather! A well located site for our needs. Thanks.’
