‘What can I say! From start to finish this caravan park is brilliant! Will was fantastic in getting me booked in as I had limited WiFi and phone connection travelling the NC500. On arrival, I was welcomed by the friendly Carol Anne who took time out to advise me on places to go and went into detail about the towns round about. My electric cable for my tent was too short and Carol Anne came down and gave us an extension at no extra cost! The park itself is stunning. Will definitely be recommending it to friends and will be back! P.S. The dog loved it too! Thanks again for everything!’

‘Stayed here for 2 nights in our motorhome. We were made very welcome by the site owners, very friendly couple. We have stayed on a good few sites on our travels but got to say the wet rooms are absolutely immaculate and I loved how they were set out, shower, toilet & wash hand basin all private like being in your own home. For anyone doing the NC500 it is a great place to stop. We will definitely return.’

‘We arrived at Dornoch Firth Caravan park around 11am after an 11 hour overnight drive from Leicestershire. We were greeted by the most welcoming and jovial face of Will, the owner. It was at this point that I knew I had chosen the right place for our family to spend our holiday. The campsite was immaculate and the facilities were second to none. Will was the best host we could have asked for and did everything he could to make our stay extraordinary. You won’t find a better site to explore the Highlands from. Thanks Will and see you again soon!

I retired a few years ago and wanted a wee place of my own away from the busy city I live in. Dornoch Firth Caravan Park has become my piece of peace on earth. From my caravan I can see hills, water and green fields. The noise comes from cows and sheep. The park is only a couple of miles from the lovely wee town of Tain, where you have Lidl, Asda, Tesco, Home Bargains, other shopping, great museums and amazing food. Check out the St Duthus Hotel and Platform 1864. One of the things I was warned about when I was researching what caravan to buy and where was to check that the site owner was a good bloke. Will is amazing! He is friendly, helpful, great fun and very generous with his drink when we have a BBQ! He cannot do enough to help. He takes a great pride in the park and how its looks, he keeps the grounds looking beautiful. And as for the new toilet, shower and laundry block – all I can tell you is my sister-in-law wanted to have a shower there rather than in my caravan! I love sitting on my deck at night watching the stars. I am determined to see the Northern Lights and meantime I’ll sip my Balblair from the nearby distillery, waving at my friendly neighbours and thinking smugly of all my stressed-out friends back home.

Buying our holiday home at Dornoch Firth Caravan Park is one of the best decisions we have made. We had been having difficulty obtaining accommodation for short breaks in the area to fit in with our busy lifestyle. Now we can get away and enjoy walking and cycling amidst the glorious scenery of the Northern Highlands as often as we wish. Our holiday home enjoys spectacular views of the Dornoch Firth and surrounding hills. It is located on the North Coast 500 route yet is convenient for the picturesque towns of Dornoch and Tain. A haven of peace and tranquility.

My partner and I went touring the west coast of Scotland in September. After travelling up the west coast we came back from Ullapool and found this campsite with our caravan. What a find! The man I met at the office could not have been more helpful, from walks and golf courses to local restaurants. The site itself was the cleanest and best kept we had been in…5 stars. Thank you.

BobbyOctober 2017

Made an unplanned stop here for one night, with a mate, on our motorbikes. The picnic tables on the camping site were a godsend, as was the wooden fence alongside, to hang our kit on.

Toilet/shower block was superb, the owners extremely helpful and all at a fair price. Would stay again 🙂

This site is nestled next to the bridge, just a few minutes from Tain with the world famous Glenmorangie distillery next door. This site is immaculate; it has a  great tent area with modern clean and very hot shower facilities for washing, cleaning and toilets.

Hi, Me and my family, five of us in total, went up north for a week to visit family and have stayed in caravan parks before in other towns and other parts of the UK but this one was amazing. The views were stunning and the owner and staff were really helpful and welcoming, there were no issues either as the site owner talked us through everything within the caravan and made sure we were happy with the caravan. We were made to feel right at home from the very start and the caravans were made to feel very homely and comfortable. Even though it is beside the main road you hear no traffic or any disturbances from the road. All in all was a fantastic stay, worth every penny and we will definitely be staying there again when we next see the family. Thanks again for a wonderful stay and can’t wait to go back.

Siobhan MacKenzie31st October 2016

Visited your site while touring with our motorhome. Very friendly and well-run site with superb new washing and toilet facilities. We will be back!

‘This is our third visit to the site. Will always gives everyone a warm welcome! We have stayed in a few caravans at times with dogs and grand kids. This is our first visit on our own, no kids, no dogs, it has been so peaceful! Many thanks to Will and staff. We will be back!’

Robert and Bill 29th July 2016

Thank you so much for the lovely stay I had at your campsite.

Having arrived soaked and knackered after a 2 days cycle from John O’Groats to Tain I was very grateful for the new and clean shower facilities (incl hair dryer) and the laundry option.

I can only recommend your campsite as an easy to reach and lovely kept place to stay for cyclists. I very much enjoyed my rest day in Tain, the leisurely cycle to Portmahomack, and especially Aspen Spa. Hot tub and massage so close by were just divine.

Thanks also for inviting me along to the Feis Rois evening. I loved the Scottish country dancing :)’

‘Dear Will

I am writing to say what a lovely site the Dornoch Firth Caravan Park is – quiet, small and peaceful. You gave us a lovely personal welcome as well, and you were very helpful about the play park and the little problem with the toilet…!

Thank you, and hope to see you again before long.

Best wishes,

The new showers/laundry facilities/were a wonderful surprise, and the showers were hot, free, and allowed you lots of space. A good base for exploring the beautiful highlands. and with several supermarkets at nearby Tain. I would positively recommend this modest location.’

Site well looked after but still relaxed atmosphere. Lovely vistas. It is so peaceful and a perfect haven for touring around. A special mention for your handbook of all the walks and journeys around the area. Very well detailed that even I didn’t get lost (and that is very unusual). BEST THOUGHT OUT GUIDE BOOK EVER. We have had a lovely stay. Thank you again. I’m sure you will be seeing us again.’

‘Hello Will

Just a quick line to say ‘thank you’ for a superb week last week. We loved the caravan and its location – an extremely well-kept site in a beautiful part of the country which we had never visited before. The weather and the Autumn colours were at their very best and we achieved our cycling objective, ending up at Duchally in the remote Glen Cassley. The two younger girls loved the play-park.

Would like to think that we’ll be back before too long.

Thank you, once again.

Go well and kind regards,

David’

David LancasterOctober 2015

‘Absolutely fantastic. Caravan was spacious, immaculately clean, extremely well equipped. Site is very central for all sorts of attractions in the Highlands. Owner very friendly and is readily available for anything that is needed.
Highly recommend. You never know you may even be invited to an impromptu BBQ by Will’.

Cathy Nash21st August 2015

‘Stayed here for a week, lovely wee site. Caravan was better quality than a haven site. Site was quiet with just a play park for kids and a laundrette. Train line runs next to site buts it’s not a busy line. Supermarkets and local takeaway five minutes away. Owners nice and helpful. Would come back here again.

Rating 5*’

Sharon Weir1st - 8th August 2015

‘The self-catering static caravan I stayed in was modern and comfortable, and the double glazing and central heating were a bonus in the unseasonal weather. The uninterrupted views from the caravan over the fields to the hills were superb – and the park was a friendly place – so I was in the right location for getting the rest and relaxation I was hoping for.

My Jack Russell terrier and I enjoyed many walks, from forest trails to beaches and town circulars to coastal paths. Situated as it is on routes heading in all directions, the park is an excellent base for exploring and appreciating the diverse landscapes and coastline in this lovely part of the world.

Tain is worth a visit plus it provides a convenient range of shops and reasonably priced petrol (at Asda). Dornoch too is just a short drive using the Dornoch Firth Bridge – slightly longer, of course, if the scenic route is enjoyed around the firth.

My week was great so I didn’t mind the unseasonal weather and I wasn’t in a hurry to leave. A return visit is on the agenda! Maybe a longer one next time.

Thank you Will and Caroline’.

Gregor Mitchell20th - 27th June 2015

‘Thank you Will and Caroline for making us very welcome, and helping to arrange our holiday week at short notice. Everything in the caravan was just fine, very clean and comfortable, and cosy in the unseasonably cool weather. The site is in a good location, with helpful touring information provided in the van as well. We would be happy to recommend your holiday park’.

Mr & Mrs D Rennie13th - 20th June 2015

‘We visit the park twice a year for already 15 years in a row!! Super kept park with lovely cosy and luxurious caravans ! We love the tranquility and stunning views you have from the park! Will and Caroline are very friendly and kind people who help you in any way they possibly can ! Every time we return is like ” coming home”!!!!!!!!!!! big hug and see you soon! :-D’

Mr & Mrs J MacRutter3rd - 23rd October 2014

‘This was our second visit to Dornoch Firth Caravan park having stayed in one of the static caravans last year we booked again. Our caravan was new and we were the first occupants, fully equipped with everything you could wish for within the caravan. It had a large decking area which we used at times as weather was hot and sunny. The site itself was quiet with a small children’s play area and adjacent picnic bench which was ideal to keep smaller kids amused and for picnic use. We found the site friendly and it was a short drive into Tain where there was lots to do for kids with swimming pool and leisure centre only a 5 minute drive away’.

Walker Family28th June 2014

‘Hello Caroline and Will,
We hope you can remember us!
Now we’re back in Germany, we like to remember our time in Scotland. Especially at Dornoch Firth Caravan Park, and your hospitality. The trip to and our stay at Ben Nevis Park was great also. Many, many thanks again. Your country is beautiful and we have seen a lot.
If you ever holiday in Germany, you are welcome in our home.
Best regards from Ostfriesland in north of Germany :-)’

‘Spent a long weekend at Dornoch Firth Caravan Park in mid June, to attend a wedding. Travelled from Elgin. A very peaceful, comfortable and pleasant stay in one of the 3 bedroom Static Caravans. Everything within the Caravan was in perfect order and very clean. Our small dog was made welcome too, and some nice walks nearby. Very friendly from booking to our welcome upon arrival. Will return again.’

Brian MitchellMid June 2014

‘Just a one night stop, in our motor home, before Steve’s last day of cycling for his LeJoG ride. Received a lovely warm welcome on what  turned out to be a glorious sunny evening.
Touring pitch was good size with the added benefit of electric hook-up and fresh water. Shower facilities basic but clean with plenty of hot water. We were eating in so didn’t leave the site to explore what else was on offer.
Spectacular views crossing the Dornoch Firth the next day; despite the distinct down turn in the weather! A well located site for our needs. Thanks.’
